🏹 JOAD Program – Junior Olympic Archery Development Hosted by Upstate Archery Academy Our JOAD Program is invitation-only and designed for youth archers who are ready to take their training to the next level through structured, goal-based development and competitive preparation. If your archer has participated in a JOAD program elsewhere, please call us at 864-775-5898 so we can help place them in the correct level moving forward. 📅 Schedule: JOAD classes are held weekly on Wednesday or Thursday evenings Class duration: 1 hour Program placement determines your assigned night All classes are taught by USA Archery Level 2 & 3 Certified Coaches 🥉 Bronze Team – Where most archers begin This level is for youth archers who have completed: Explore Archery Advanced Archery Or have experience shooting with NASP or S3DA Bronze-level archers will: Continue developing and refining their shot process Begin preparation for competitive archery Work toward JOAD achievement pins Be introduced to the National Training System (NTS) developed by Olympic Head Coach Kisik Lee ✅ Requirements: Own equipment required Participate in at least 2 JOAD pin shoots per year Open to all disciplines: Compound, Olympic Recurve, Barebow, and Traditional 🥈 Silver Team – Competitive development Silver -Level archers: Compete in indoor and outdoor tournaments Are members of our Upstate Patriot Team Set yearly goals with their coaches Support newer archers and demonstrate good sportsmanship Attend practices at our outdoor field (March/April – September) Volunteer for Camps and other events ✅ Requirements: Own equipment required • Compete in a Minim of 4 tournament • S3DA • USA Archery State Indoor/Outdoor • National Events are encouraged • Fun shoots, Pin shoots and other Upstate Events do not count toward this total Practice regularly at home when possible 🥇 Gold Team – High-performance training All Silver Requirements plus Compete at higher levels in both indoor and outdoor distances Are senior members of our Upstate Patriot Team Set and review weekly goals and performance logs with coaches Assist with mentoring newer archers ✅ Requirements: Own target archery equipment Select National Events and all USA Archery SC State Events for indoor and outdoor, 3-D is optional Must be practicing outside of class 2 to 3 times a week.
